We're looking for a proactive, customer-focused individual to join our IT team as a Level 2 Systems Engineer. This role is ideal for someone established in their career and looking to take it to the next level!. AvantGuard provides both high level strategic guidance to clients as a Level 3 resource for internal IT teams and provides end to end IT leadership and technical support to our clients without their own IT staff. We manage small business networks based on Microsoft cloud solutions and associated industry leading Managed Service Provider tools. Experience with advanced Microsoft Cloud administration is a requirement.

**Job Overview**

As a Level 2 Systems Engineer, you will take the lead on client projects under the direction of senior staff. You'll not only provide excellent customer service and resolve technical issues, but be encouraged to think about the client's needs and design solutions to meet them.

**Previous experience required

- Documented ability to lead and manage a small business networks of 10 - 50 users

- Previous experience will email migrations and associated DNS changes

- Previous experience migrating local file systems to SharePoint and MS Azure

- Previous experience replacing and upgrading network equipment including routers, firewalls, switches and access points

- Previous experience with designing and communicating technical solutions to decision makers

**Responsibilities**

- Respond to technical support requests from end-users via phone, email, or onsite.

- Diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues related to software, hardware, and network connectivity.

- Provide step-by-step guidance to end-users, helping them resolve problems with minimal disruption.

- Escalate complex issues to higher-level support staff as necessary.

- Maintain accurate and timely records of all support activities and resolutions in the help desk system.

- Assist with setting up and configuring new hardware and software.

- Ensure compliance with IT policies and maintain data security protocols.

- Contribute to a knowledge base by documenting common issues and resolutions.

**Qualifications**

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or technical certification in IT preferred).

- Experience: Prior experience in a customer support or IT support role is required.

- Technical Skills: Deep technical understanding of Windows operating systems, Microsoft cloud solutions, and network fundamentals.

- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills; able to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot issues efficiently.

- Customer Service Skills: Friendly, patient, and able to handle stressful situations with professionalism.

**Preferred Qualifications**

- Experience with help desk ticketing systems (e.g., Halo[JA2.1]PSA a plus).

- Familiarity with remote desktop tools and troubleshooting.

- Experience with Microsoft 365 User / Group / SharePoint environments a big plus

This is an on-premises position, NOT a work from home position.

This position requires intermittent travel to local clients for on-premises work

This position requires participating in an on-call rotation for night and weekend responses to client emergencies
