PSEG is not offering visa sponsorship for this position.Job Summary Under the direction of the Manager - Distribution Interconnection in the Power Asset Management group of PSM, this position is responsible for reviewing the distributed energy resource applications into our tariff based small generator interconnection procedure onto the LIPA system. Engineering reviews include single line diagrams and calculations along with working with other internal engineering groups in order to safely and reliably interconnect onto our system.Job Responsibilities Demonstrated knowledge of Long Island Electric System, Knowledge of Small Generator Interconnection Procedures (SGIP) Provide support on technical end to assist Renewable and Non-Renewable projects proposed to interconnect to LIPA Distribution System. Awareness and knowledge of Distribution Interconnection Process. Assist in operational management of existing interconnected resources on Distribution system. Participate and contribute to "cradle to grave" application management from the initial Distributed Energy Resource (DER) questions, to application review, invoice creation, CESIR studies, Interconnection Agreement to construction management and project close-out. Job Specific Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, completed no later than 2026. A minimum of 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience. Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. A proactive problem-solver and strategic decision-maker who excels at organizing high-priority projects in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Familiarity with electric utility and power including knowledge of distribution systems. Clear and concise writing and verbal communications skills. Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills; strong planning and organizing skills; adaptable and results- oriented. Possess leadership skills, professionalism and customer/client focus. Because the role involves traveling to company sites and attending off-site assignments and events, candidates must hold a valid U.S. driver’s license and maintain a safe, satisfactory driving record. Compliance with the Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.
