Position Summary

The Revenue Cycle Manager takes ownership of day-to-day operations for the Revenue Cycle department as a frontline manager, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant reimbursement across all revenue cycle functions. This role provides direct leadership to a team of approximately 15 employees through scheduling oversight, regular coaching, performance management, and employee development, while staying cross-trained across every role on the team. The Revenue Cycle Manager maintains a tight feedback loop with the VP and Product Manager to surface obstacles, prioritize work, and drive resolution of systemic issues affecting KPI performance.


But this role is bigger than the day-to-day. Every claim processed accurately, and every denial resolved quickly means a patient isn't caught in the middle of a billing mess, and a rural community keeps access to the care it depends on. The work your team does behind the scenes is part of what keeps MainStreet's doors open across the Southeast.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Frontline Management

• Approve time in the timekeeping system, approve or deny PTO requests, and manage other scheduling requests for the team.

• Hold regular 1:1s with direct reports and lead daily team huddles to rally and focus the team on priorities.

• Drive the team toward hitting - and beating - KPI targets.

HR & People

• Manage hiring and termination decisions for the team.

• Celebrate your team by organizing celebrations for birthdays, work anniversaries, and other life milestones.

• Partner with the Patient Support Team to build a unified culture across teams.

Training

• Train new hires and deliver ongoing booster trainings.

• Communicate and train the team on new features or approaches as they roll out.

Feedback Loop with VP and Product Manager

• Communicate issues and obstacles affecting the team's ability to hit KPI targets.

• Execute prioritized tasks with the RCM team.

• Collect and organize team feedback on system issues, and project the scope and impact of issues so the team can prioritize appropriately.

Cross-Training

• Perform any role within RCM and understand the expectations and tasks of each position on the team.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, including billing, claims, collections, denials, and reimbursement.

• Minimum of 2 years of people management experience leading a healthcare revenue cycle team.

• Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and hold employees accountable for performance.

• Experience hiring, training, and terminating team members.

• Strong understanding of medical billing, reimbursement methodologies, denial management, accounts receivable, and payer operations.

• Proficiency with electronic health record and practice management systems, along with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading revenue cycle operations in a multi-site healthcare organization.

• Experience in urgent care, primary care, or ambulatory healthcare.

• Experience training and cross-training team members across multiple revenue cycle functions.

Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This is a salaried, exempt position and may require flexibility based on business needs.
