Carrier Payable Specialist
Higginbotham, a privately held, independent insurance and financial services firm that ranks within the top 20 nationwide, has an immediate opening for a Company Payable Specialist for our Fort Worth, Texas office.
The Company Payable Specialist is responsible for completing company payments by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices received from the insurance carriers.
The essential tasks and skills include:
- Pays insurance carriers by verifying client payments and preparing checks
- Resolving invoice and payment discrepancies and documentation
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding and knowledge of the accounting process
- Provide timely communication to manager for any processing delays, control deficiencies, or personnel issues
- Maintains a Carrier Responsibility list
- Maintains historical records by electronically scanning and filing documents
- Continuously identify ways to eliminate waste in current processes and improve efficiency / effectiveness
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
Work Location: Fort Worth, TX
Experience: Previous experience with accounting processes and procedures. Previous experience with insurance accounting preferred.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- Repeated use of sight to read documents and computer screens
- Repeated use of hearing and speech to communicate on telephone and in person
- Repetitive hand movements, such as keyboarding, writing, 10-key
- Walking, bending, sitting, reaching, and stretching in all directions
