VP Lead Java Software Engineer Asset Management

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 5+ years of applied experience
• Proven hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability in production environments
• Advanced proficiency in Java for enterprise backend development, with strong practical experience building services using Spring Boot or equivalent Java frameworks
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating integrations with messaging and/or event streaming platforms such as Kafka, AWS MSK, SQS/SNS, or Kinesis, including dependable delivery patterns, error handling, and production observability
• Practical cloud-native experience, with the target platform being AWS, including building, deploying, and operating services in a cloud environment
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to set team expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resilience and security expectations, with experience coaching senior engineers or leads on compliant usage patterns and controls
• Ability to solve design and functionality issues independently with minimal oversight
• Preferred: reactive programming experience, such as Reactor, and familiarity with event-driven, messaging, and streaming systems
• Preferred: financial services, wealth management, or alternatives domain experience

• Provide technical direction and guidance to support the business, technical teams, contractors, and vendors
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and troubleshoot code written by others
• Promote and govern approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational results, while setting measurable validation standards and encouraging reuse of proven patterns and automation within the SDLC/TLM toolchain
• Apply knowledge of software development life cycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value delivered through automation at scale
• Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
• Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
• Contribute actively to the engineering community as an advocate for firmwide frameworks, tools, and software development life cycle practices
