Summary

The Vice President, Fund Controller provides accounting leadership for assigned real estate credit investment vehicles, including accounting, financial reporting, performance measurement, investment accounting, valuation support, financing activity, and control execution. Assigned investment vehicles may include closed-end credit funds, separate accounts, feeder funds, parallel vehicles, joint ventures, co-investment vehicles, and related holding companies, with reporting prepared under accounting principles generally accepted in the United States (US GAAP).

The role manages accounting activities performed in-house or by third-party fund administrators and other service providers, while partnering across portfolio management, asset management, originations, capital markets, treasury, investor relations, compliance, legal, tax, valuation, and external audit teams to support accurate reporting, governing-document compliance, financing requirements, and timely resolution of accounting and reporting matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting, performance measurement, and monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for assigned real estate credit investment vehicles under US GAAP.
• Manage close and reporting calendars, including deliverables, approvals, open items, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to meet accounting, reporting, tax, compliance, investor, and other applicable deadlines and resolve issues.
• Review quarterly and annual reports, including financial statements, footnotes, consolidations, reconciliations, journal entries, supporting schedules, and covenant calculations prepared in-house or by third-party fund administrators and other service providers.
• Manage accounting for significant investment and financing activity, including loan originations, fundings, repayments, amendments, restructurings, transfers, subscription line activity, back leverage arrangements, and related transactions.
• Coordinate with asset management, originations, capital markets, and portfolio management on investment activity, valuation support, borrower updates, and related accounting, reporting, liquidity, or investor communication matters.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least eight to ten years of progressively responsible experience in real estate credit fund accounting, private credit accounting, financial reporting, or public accounting, including at least three years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, real estate credit fund accounting, loan and investment accounting, financial and investor reporting, internal controls, valuation support, financing and covenant reporting, and third-party service-provider management.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex governing, loan, financing, servicing, and transaction agreements; evaluate accounting matters; and review financial statements, capital activity, investor reporting, lender reporting, covenant calculations, and supporting analyses.
• Strong leadership, judgment, and communication skills, with the ability to set priorities, lead teams, manage third-party providers, and resolve complex matters.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA, CPA candidate, or equivalent professional designation.
• Experience with Yardi, Yardi Investment Manager, Payscan, Workiva, investment accounting platforms, loan servicing or portfolio management systems, or similar systems. xhyhwjd
• Experience with real estate credit fund reporting, audits, tax compliance, investor reporting, lender reporting, subscription line activity, performance measurement, valuation support, loan servicing oversight, or third-party fund administration; familiarity with repurchase lender agreements preferred.
