Quality Control Inspector (LS33477) Birmingham, England Salary: GBP35,000 – GBP40,000 per annum (negotiable based on experience). Days only, early finish Fridays, 28 days holiday, overtime opportunities. Overview We’re recruiting an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join a precision engineering business that supplies high‑quality components to global industries. Key Responsibilities Perform first‑off, in‑process, and final inspections of machined components. Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and GD&T. Use precision measuring equipment, including bore gauges and CMM where applicable. Complete inspection reports and other quality documentation. Identify and report non‑conforming products. Support root‑cause investigations and corrective actions. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve quality standards. Assist with internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain calibration records and ensure inspection equipment remains compliant. Promote a quality‑first culture throughout the business. Qualifications Previous experience in a Quality Control, Quality Assurance or Inspection role. Background in manufacturing, precision engineering or CNC machining environments. Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances. Knowledge of GD&T principles. Experience using a range of precision measuring equipment. Excellent attention to detail. Strong communication and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Highly Desirable Experience operating or programming CMM equipment. Knowledge of ISO9001 standards and quality management systems. Experience with FAIRs, NCRs and CAPA processes. Background in aerospace, automotive, bearings, power transmission or precision manufacturing. Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
