Obstetrics Physician

ATC West Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist in Springfield, Ohio for ongoing weekend laborist coverage beginning as soon as credentialed. This role focuses primarily on inpatient labor and delivery services, managing both low- and high-risk obstetric patients while providing gynecologic surgical coverage as needed. The facility is seeking providers who can commit to recurring weekend coverage and support an established OB/GYN team.

• Start Date: As soon as credentialed
• Potential June coverage: Available approximately 2 weeks prior to start
• Specific July Coverage: July
• Ongoing Need: 2 3 weekends per month
• Schedule: Friday 7:00 AM Monday 7:00 AM
• Shift Type: 24-hour in-house laborist coverage
• Call Schedule: Two weekends per month (Friday Sunday)
• Call Ratio: 1:4
• Credentialing Timeframe: days

• Provide inpatient OB/GYN laborist coverage in a hospital-based setting.
• Manage approximately 90% Labor & Delivery patients.
• Care for both low-risk (60%) and high-risk (40%) obstetric populations.
• Perform fetal monitoring interpretation, obstetric ultrasound interpretation, and viability screenings.
• Manage routine and complex vaginal deliveries, C-sections, VBACs, breech deliveries, multiple births, abruptions, and repair of severe lacerations.
• Provide gynecologic surgical care, including:
  • Tubal ligations
  • Lysis of adhesions (LOA)
  • Chromal tubation
  • Ectopic pregnancy management
  • Oophorectomy (ovary removal)
  • Ovarian cystectomy
  • Major operative gynecologic procedures
• Collaborate with L&D nurses, midwives, and APP support.
• Utilize Epic EMR for documentation.

• 205-bed hospital
• 34 L&D/Postpartum/Triage beds
• Level II Nursery
• Four physicians in practice
• One APP per 12-hour shift
• Onsite laboratory and ultrasound services
• Average of five gynecologic surgeries per day
• Approximately one C-section per day
• Average of four nursery admissions per day

• Board Certified OB/GYN (Required)
• Ohio medical license preferred; providers needing licensure will be considered (Ohio license required for June/July starts)
• BLS certification (Required)
• ACLS certification (Required)
• Active DEA registration (Required)
• Clean malpractice history (Required)
• Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation (Required)
• Experience managing low- and high-risk obstetric cases
• Proficiency in labor and delivery procedures, C-sections, VBACs, fetal monitoring interpretation, obstetric ultrasound interpretation, and gynecologic surgery
