Opportunity Overview

Our organization is on the lookout for a full-time OB/GYN Hospitalist to become part of a dynamic and collaborative Women's Health team at a prominent medical center located in San Francisco.

The hospitalists in our team deliver comprehensive obstetric care in a high-acuity setting, supported by a Level 3+ NICU , along with in-house specialists in neonatology, anesthesiology, maternal-fetal medicine, and midwifery.

You will collaborate closely with generalist OB/GYN physicians, certified nurse midwives, and other hospital-based professionals in a team-focused environment that prioritizes safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care.

Schedule & Flexibility

This is a full-time position tailored for physicians who appreciate a flexible hospital-based practice.

• 120 annual 12-hour shifts, which can be a mix of 12-hour and 24-hour shifts.

• Scheduling will be coordinated based on program requirements and physician availability.

• One clinic day each week.

• Access to in-house multidisciplinary support during hospital shifts.

• Utilization of a fully integrated Epic EMR system across both clinic and hospital environments.

Position Details / Clinical Responsibilities

Primary duties may include:

• Delivering comprehensive inpatient obstetric care, which encompasses evaluation, labor management, delivery, and postpartum care.

• Overseeing obstetric triage and managing acute obstetric cases.

• Conducting vaginal and cesarean deliveries and addressing obstetric emergencies.

• Working closely with OB/GYN physicians, certified nurse midwives, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and nursing teams.

• Providing consultation and support for complex or high-risk obstetric patients.

• Participating in one outpatient clinic day weekly.

• Contributing to quality, safety, and clinical improvement initiatives within Women's Health.

• Fostering a collegial, team-oriented atmosphere focused on high-quality, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.

• Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology (ABOG).

• Eligibility for California medical licensure.

• Strong clinical judgment and comfort in managing a wide range of obstetric cases.

• A patient-centered, team-oriented approach.

• Ability to work closely with midwives and multidisciplinary hospital teams.
