Job Title: Part-Time Mandarin Teacher Location: Seattle, WA 98102 Job Type: Part Time Salary Range: $26,619 - $46,613 annually. Job Overview Seattle Prep seeks a part‑time Mandarin teacher to teach 2 courses, beginning August 2026. World Languages at Seattle Prep offer German, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish. The courses focus on listening, reading, speaking, and writing using authentic materials and real‑life situations. Essential Functions Teach Mandarin by imparting knowledge, skills, and expertise to students; responsible for curriculum development, assessment, classroom management, and family communication. Collaborate with department teachers to ensure consistency and interdisciplinary goals of the program. Engage fully in the life of the school: supervision of students, participation in meetings, retreats, professional development, and all school masses and assemblies. Fulfill additional supervision duties of full‑time teachers (e.g., study hall). Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in Mandarin or a related field, and a minimum of two years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions. Expertise with a variety of teaching methodologies and ability to teach various courses and grade levels. Demonstrated experience collaborating with colleagues. Must complete a criminal history background check and safe‑environment training on hire and every 3years. Preferred Qualifications A Master's Degree in Teaching, Mandarin, or a related field. Five or more years of teaching experience, preferably in a high school. Experience with Jesuit or Catholic education. Washington State Teaching Credential or other appropriate certification. Compensation & Benefits Salary is determined based on education and experience within the range of $26,619 – $46,613 annually.
