Executive Director Of Support Programs & Secondary Education
The primary role of the Executive Director of Support Programs & Secondary Education is to provide visionary leadership in the areas of student learning, support programs, classroom instruction, data analysis, and accountability oversight to ensure a successful educational program that meets the needs of all learners-and ensures high achievement for student growth and academic performance. The Executive Director will provide leadership, guidance, recommendations, and support for all areas of student and teacher growth (6-12th grades), and development for assigned areas as well as through managing program support for all students, including: student services, social services, nursing, advanced academics, and counseling. Develop and monitor compliance processes and systems to ensure that the Royal ISD and campuses achieve and maintain 100% compliance with fiscal and programmatic accountability standards. Oversee assigned campuses and ensure campuses meet at least an academically acceptable accountability rating.
Education/Certification:
- Master's degree in education from an approved educational institution (Required)
- Valid Texas teacher certificate (Required)
- Valid Texas Mid-Management or other appropriate Texas administrative certificate (Required)
Experience:
- Three (3) years successful teaching experience in public schools at JH or High School Level
- Five (5) years successful 6-12th grade campus leadership as an assistant principal or principal in public schools (can be combined 5 years)
- District leadership experience with oversight of Directors or Support Programs (preferred)
Major Responsibilities and Duties

Support Programs
- Coordinate to ensure district compliance in all assigned programs, such as counseling, advanced academics, social services, nursing, student services, etc.
- Oversee the development of budget for assigned areas; ensure funds are spent appropriately and align with the district goals
- Oversee orientation sessions, as needed, for effective implementation of instructional programs at the secondary level
- Monitor programs and their expenditures to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines
- Ensure robust services and programs for all students that allow both students and the district to be successful.
- Lead and oversee the building of support programs that are needed to ensure they meet the needs of all learners.
- Submit campus, district improvement plans, evaluations and documentation to TEA
- Prepare and submit reports, applications and other compliance pieces as needed to the State meeting all State deadlines and adhering to specified timelines
Response to Intervention (Secondary)
- Coordinate the collection and analysis of relevant data at every Tier, including universal screening, and progress monitoring. Assist school and district personnel in interpreting the data gathered, and determining and monitoring of Tier II, and Tier III interventions for all students.
- Monitors implementation of the Royal RTI process to ensure that the model and intervention are implemented as intended.
- Collaborates with campuses to address and problem-solve issues or questions about implementing the RTI model. Effectively assists in the removal of school barriers that may hinder the school improvement process through active participation and engagement with critical school leaders at both the campus and district levels.
- Collaborates with others (e.g. teachers, administrators, students, parents, other district personnel, community organizations, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and/or programs as determined by monitoring of school and district improvement plans.
- Coordinates RTI program components, supports needs, and materials for the purpose of meeting student needs while complying with district and/or program guidelines.
- Maintains a variety of detailed records in a variety of written and electronic formats.
- Prepares a variety of program related reports in both manual and electronic formats (e.g. media communications, translations, guidelines, recommendations, curriculum components, state and federal reporting, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, reporting of progress and conveyance of information and ensuring all program requirements are met in an effective and timely manner.
- Presents information to district and community groups for the purpose of promoting the RTI program, gaining feedback, and complying with established internal controls.
Secondary Education
- Supervision of campus principals, as assigned.
- Collaborate with other district academic leaders to ensure success at assigned campuses
- Ensure strong curricular program are in place at all RISD campuses through recommendations, supervision and oversight of assigned campuses.nEnsure state adopted and aligned curriculum in all courses taught.
- Coach and support assigned principals to ensure academic success for all campuses.
- Work with school leaders to monitor school improvement and adjust accordingly.
- Support Principals to ensure high quality implementation of each school's educational design, including school culture, standards, assessments, and instructional guidelines
- Ensure the effective management, coaching, and mentorship of school leaders in ways that drive significant student achievement gains.
- Allocate and monitor the effectiveness of mentoring and coaching resources assigned to provide differentiated support to schools as needed.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of campus administrators, ensuring strategies are student-focused and aligned with the district's mission, core values, academic standards, and goals.
- Ensure all secondary campuses achieve at least an acceptable academic rating by the state agency.
- Oversee CTE & CCMR; ensure the district has built-out pathways that students are completing.
- Ensure 100% graduation rate and the highest level CCMR rating for accountability purposes.
Policy, Reports, and Law Responsibilities
- Compile, maintain, and file all required reports, records, and other documents required, including mandatory reports to state and federal agencies.
- Comply with policies established by state and federal law, State Board of Education rule, and local school board policy.
- Monitor state and federal legislative processes for potential impact on assessment and accountability systems and provide updates to supervisor as needed

- Articulate the district's mission, instructional philosophy and curriculum implementation strategies to the community and solicit its support in realizing the district's mission.
- Use effective, professional communication skills to present information accurately and clearly contributing to a positive culture and climate.
- Respond in an efficient and timely manner to directives, tasks, or projects assigned by the superintendent(s).
- Other duties as assigned.

- Work positively and collaboratively as a team
- May serve as a Level II Hearing Officer.

Salary: $112,781-$140,000 (Based on Experience)
