We are Canteen.Job Summary:Reporting to the COO, this Senior Vice President is responsible for the overall operation of several hundred accounts across Northern California. You will lead, manage, and inspire a team of senior leaders and set the culture for providing excellent customer service, operational excellence, and creative, cutting-edge innovation solutions that meet our clients' requirements. You'll partner closely with your peers to deliver on the Canteen mission, support Key Performance Indicators, and sustain and grow our business. This is a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment. This is a unique opportunity to play a game-changing role in the long-term success of our organization.This role is based in the East Bay Area and will office out of either Hayward (preferred) or Fremont.About our ideal candidate:Highly organized, disciplined, and have a deep understanding of operational and financial metricsLoves managing, motivating, and inspiring teams to achieve goals they never thought possibleHas a high bar and holds their team and partners accountable in a way that inspires them to continuously improveHas high integrityWants to have a major impact on the bottom line and the future growth of an organizationKey Responsibilities:Lead, manage, and inspire a diverse team of district managers and/or regional directors of operations, and their teams, to provide top-notch products and services to our clientsDevelop a culture of safety, customer obsession, innovation, curiosity, and proactivenessLead the organization through large-scale changeDrive self and team towards building strong relationships with clients at all levels and achievement of key performance indicatorsServe on the Pacific Division leadership team, influencing and leading division-wide operations, and regularly communicating with peers to share best practices, mitigate risks, champion diversity, and build communityOwn key regional decisions with team input, weighing risks and rewards along with short- and long-term implicationsModel communication that is strategic, thoughtful, and persuasiveSets tone for culture of organization in the region and regularly meet with extended team to ensure full transparency, education, safety, accountability, and alignmentServe as representative/brand ambassador of the Canteen team to most senior clients in the region, and act as escalation pointPartner with sales and retention teams to drive strategy for growth, structure deals, present new business, build relationships with prospective clients, and negotiate key contract termsCollaborate with key partners on regional and/or nationwide initiativesEnsure compliance with all safety, QA, company policy, and other program requirementsChampion development within the region; conduct performance evaluations and succession planning; maintain a full understanding of all roles within operationOwn regional financial results/P&L, and work with leadership team to ensure accuracy for reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processesEnsure consistent and fair administration of all policies and proceduresOversee and shape employee engagement, retention, and succession planning effortsRecognize and anticipate marketplace trends; participate in strategic planning meetingsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university in business or a related field, and/or 12 years progressive experience in multi-unit foodservice or other food services, hospitality management, culinary product development, and/or warehouse operations managementExperience with office coffee, pantry, micro-markets, vending preferred; open to multi-unit leadership experience in logistics, transportation, similar industry consumer productsStrong background in senior leadership roles with experience in contract and budget management, P&L management, customer service, people development, negotiations, culinary, innovation, etcExceptional leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skillsStrong history of meeting and exceeding sales and profit objectivesHas contributed to the significant growth and success of an organizationA proven track record of growing a business and leading large cross-functional teamsExcellent business and financial acumenAbility to think quickly, analytically, strategically, and accuratelyExpert client relationship management, influencing, listening, and communications (written and verbal) skillsInclusion mindset, proactive, positive, professional, flexible, and resilientStrong track record of driving associate and customer satisfactionProven ability in developing and implementing new business modelsProven ability to work effectively in an unstructured, fast-paced and PL driven environmentTravel within the Bay Area required; occasional/rare non-local travelCanteen is a member of Compass Group USACompass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
