Automation Engineer

Salary: $71,520 - 98,340 per year Requirements:

• We prefer a bachelors degree in an electrical engineering discipline or a related engineering field, or an equivalent mix of college education and electrical engineering experience.
• We are looking for 1–3 years of experience in process, automation, or manufacturing engineering within an industrial setting.
• We prefer experience in steel roll forming and processing.
• We prefer a background in lean manufacturing or a business system-based organization.
• We require working knowledge of Rockwell PLC programming; Siemens experience is a plus.
• We need experience planning power distribution, creating conduit and cable schedules, and producing AutoCAD layouts.
• We prefer experience with SCADA systems, such as Wonderware or similar platforms.
• We value project management and capital project management experience, including scope development, quoting, justification, and implementation.
• We need proficiency with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office.
• We value the ability to manage multiple projects at once, across different levels of complexity.
• Tube mill or steel industry experience is preferred.
• We are looking for a professional, proactive, self-motivated, creative, and dynamic approach with the ability to work independently.
• We require strong verbal and written communication skills.

• We drive and support productivity improvements and best practices across the business.
• We lead and oversee projects, including documentation and schedules for improvement work and new equipment initiatives.
• We support manufacturing improvement efforts such as lean manufacturing, process enhancement, and problem solving.
• We prepare bid and costing information for electrical projects, manage Gantt charts, and help ensure project deadlines are met.
• We create schematics, documentation, and troubleshooting guidance for skilled trades teams.
• We implement and expand SCADA systems.
• We participate in, and may lead, continuous improvement activities.
• We help maintain the plants electrical infrastructure.
• We ensure electrical equipment in the plant remains compliant with safety codes.
• We provide troubleshooting guidance to maintenance electricians and electrical technicians.
• We recommend methods, materials, and layout improvements based on manufacturing needs and capabilities.
• We support equipment operation, training, process improvement, data analysis, and cost-reduction efforts over the first 12 months in the role.
