Release Train Engineer

Overview This role supports two Agile Release Trains (ARTs) within the Investment Management portfolio. The Release Train Engineer (RTE) acts as chief Scrum Master, partnering with product and technical leaders to ensure alignment with strategy, provide guidance, facilitation and coaching to the teams, and to steward a Lean‑Agile mindset throughout the program. Responsibilities Manage and optimize the flow of value through the Agile Release Train using tools such as Program and Solution Kanban boards and dashboards. Plan, facilitate, and organize SAFe Program Increment (PI) planning and its communication. Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process that creates Vision, Roadmap, and Backlogs, and conduct pre‑ and post‑PI Planning workshops. Summarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives. Promote an agile mindset focused on Lean‑Agile principles and systems thinking. Assist in managing risks and dependencies, address critical bottlenecks, and serve as the primary escalation contact for the Scrum Master community. Elevate Scrum Master performance and mentor them to deepen team understanding of Agile principles and practices. Provide a safe space that encourages relentless improvement and continuous learning. Guide and coach scrum teams on using Agile practices and principles to deliver quality products and business value. Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean‑Agile practices and mindsets. Build and support high‑performing Agile teams and Agile Release Trains. Track the execution of features and capabilities. Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings, including Scrum of Scrums. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. Agile or SAFe certifications preferred. 2+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer. Advanced knowledge of the Lean‑Agile mindset and experience applying Scrum, Kanban, XP, and other frameworks. Experience using Jira, Clarity, or similar tools. Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills. Bias toward action, driving for results, and problem‑solving. Ability to identify problems and guide teams to resolution. Location & Work Mode While the role is posted as hybrid, if selected and accepted, you may retain your home‑based status. Candidates residing within commuting distance of our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO offices are expected to work in the office four days per week starting 1‑June‑2026 (three days per week before that, preferably Tuesday‑Thursday).
