Position Summary:

Based in Huntington Park, California the Shipping & Receiving Clerk will perform essential job functions associated with ship heat treated parts under the direction of the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.

· Maintains shipping and receiving area as needed.

· Assists with loading and unloading trucks. Schedules truck shipments, UPS, and FedEx as needed.

· Interacts with customers as needed to clarify or communicate discrepancies and schedules.

· Inspects and records incoming and outgoing orders for count, damage, dates, etc.

· Brings any irregularities or other discrepancies/concerns to supervisor immediately.

· Promotes and practices safety and good housekeeping.

· Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.

· This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.

· Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.

· This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder. (Keep if ITAR Plant or Remove in non-ITAR)

· Education – High school diploma or equivalent.

· Minimum 1 year shipping experience required.

· Minimum one year experience in shipping applications/databases.

· Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification.

· Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.

Physical & Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to the following.

· Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an industrial environment.

· Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.

· Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.

· Ability to lift 35 lbs.

· May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.

· Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.

· Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

· Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.

· Ability to hear in person and via phone.

Pay & Benefits Information

The hourly pay for this position is $20.00 - 23.00 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal law.

This role is eligible for additional compensation, including shift differential, etc., if applicable.
