Litigation Paralegal

Michaelson Law is a local, family-owned firm that has been serving clients in Nevada for over 30 years. Our law firm focuses on estate planning, elder law, probate, guardianship, business law, and litigation, and has offices in Henderson and Las Vegas. We are looking for an experienced and engaged litigation paralegal to join our firm and become an integral part of our firm. To ensure success as a paralegal at Michaelson Law, you should exhibit excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work on multiple matters simultaneously. This paralegal will assist our civil litigation attorneys with matters from inception through post-trial. Day to day, you will… Support 1-2 attorneys in all stages of civil litigation cases Oversee organization and maintenance of all case-related documents Maintain timely and accurate timekeeping records on a daily basis Assist in the discovery process Participate in document reviews and document creation Review and summarize documents and deposition transcripts Assist with basic legal research Assemble motion papers and exhibits, coordinate filings of pleadings and briefs, and ensures proper service Draft common pleadings, motions, notices, and other court filings Ensure compliance with federal and state rules of procedure and evidence for document format, content, filing, etc. Assist with trial preparations, such as creating trial notebooks; identifying and organizing exhibits, coordinating witness schedules, maintaining trial calendars, and communicating effectively with opposing counsel and courtroom staff Manage document deliveries and track final executed documentationAssist with overflow work and other special projects, as assigned Communicate with clients, colleagues and co-workers in a professional manner Maintain a professional appearance What you’ll bring to the team… Paralegal certification 5+ years as a litigation paralegal Ability to meet daily billing requirements Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines Familiarity with Westlaw and Lexis Nexis Exceptional computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, e-filing, and other litigation support applications Ability to collaborate well in a team It would be even better if you had… NALA certification Trial experience Ability to speak a second language As part of the team, you will get… Competitive pay and bonus opportunities 12 paid holidays and generous PTO Fully-paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits #J-18808-Ljbffr
