$1,000 SIGN-ON BONUS! First Steps Childcare is now hiring and offering a $1,000 SIGN-ON BONUS! We are looking for qualified individuals who are passionate, motivated, hands-on, and flexible. We are excited to continue to grow our amazing team here in Mount Horeb, WI.
We are looking to hire positive, happy, energetic and caring individuals to guide and nurture the children in our care.
We seek individuals with a passion for teaching. Must be able to work as a supportive member of our team.

- You will be responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
- Create a stimulating and engaged learning environment while assisting in their development
- Develop and maintain ongoing professional communication with children and their families.
- Observe and record progress on each child on their individual progress, routines, and interests
- Always be attentive to the supervision, while remaining interactive and engaged.
- Meet and comply with licensing requirements and center policies
- Willing to take on new responsibilities
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must pass a fingerprint background check
- Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields is a plus
- Passionate about working with children
- Ability to build rapport with children
- Positive and patient demeanor
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ensure children are kept active, entertained, and engaged in developmentally appropriate activities
- Exhibit composure, patience, and professionalism at all times
- Demonstrates full range of motion to: Stand and walk for extended periods of time without significant discomfort
- Ability to safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Reach, stretch with hands and arms
- Climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- CCFT (Child Care Foundational Trainings)
- AED, Pediatric CPR and First Aide Certificate
- Abusive Head Trauma Certificate
- Mandated Reporter Certificate
