Overview:

St Ann Catholic School in Naples, Florida, is a Catholic, classical school in the Diocese of Venice in which students, from pre-school to eighth grade, encounter Christ and pursue excellence in all things. Students deepen their love of God and others through the pursuit of all that is true, good, and beautiful.

The Catholic school assistant principal serves not only as the educational leader but also as the spiritual leader of the school. Emphasizing qualities of excellence, commitment, creativity and innovation in all school endeavors, the assistant principal guides a Christ-centered community committed to the development of the whole child. The assistant principal works collaboratively with the Principal, Pastor, and the Director of Catholic Education/Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese.

Essential Duties:

• Sustains and strengthens the mission of St Ann Catholic School and the philosophy of Catholic education.
• Oversees curriculum and instruction in all classes K-8.
• Works with faculty on purposed curriculum changes.
• Develops course schedules and teacher assignments.
• Ensures curriculum distribution to faculty. Creates, adjusts & maintains daily course rotations.
• Oversees all faculty development, training, and retreats.
• Purchases curriculum including over the summer, receives and delivers it to classes.
• First administrative contact for concerns about student or teacher academic performance.
• Ensures all faculty teaching licenses are up to date and assists with renewals.
• Conducts all faculty formal and informal observations.
• Assists new or struggling faculty with resources and mentoring.
• Coordinates annual testing. Communicates and interprets results of testing to faculty and parents.
• Consults with local law enforcement, emergency personnel and other experts to best prepare the school community for emergencies and critical incidents.
• Monitors student conduct during the school day, at assemblies and liturgies, and at school-sponsored activities.
• Determines the issuing of demerits, school suspensions and additional disciplinary action for offenses not specifically addressed by the Student Handbook in a manner that is reasonable and consistent.
• Meets with students and/or parents to address disciplinary concerns.
• Oversees the maintenance and upkeep of student disciplinary records.
• Generates letters to be sent to parents because of disciplinary probation and monitors students on disciplinary probation.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Master's Degree or higher in Administration or related field.
• Licensure in the State of Florida.
• Prefer background/certification in Educational Leadership and/or Counseling.
• Prefer experience in working with disciplinary and counseling related issues.
• A practicing Catholic and committed disciple of Jesus Christ whose faith is an integral part of their life and worldview.
• Collaborative leader with an accessible and approachable style that demonstrates a willingness to listen to new ideas while offering creative solutions to challenges.
• Excellent communications skills both oral and written, including public speaking.
• Knowledge and understanding of financial, accounting and marketing functions.
• Ability to articulate an educational vision that incorporates the best aspects of Catholic Education.
