Manager, Access Services- Patient Engagement Center

Job Summary Department/Unit: Patient Engagement CenterWork Shift: Evening (United States of America)Salary Range: $70,068.00 - $108,605.00 Responsibilities The position is responsible for the daily operations of the Pre‑Service functions of the Patient Engagement Center, including appointment scheduling, eligibility verification, pre‑registration, authorization, and financial clearance for practice and hospital services. The incumbent ensures that staff execute actions necessary for timely scheduling and financial clearing that meet patient and provider expectations, monitors daily metrics, and implements staffing or process modifications to meet key performance indicators for pre‑service revenue cycle best practices. Additional responsibilities include managing a high‑functioning team, promoting a patient‑centered approach to recruitment and retention, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations. The role requires managing access to sensitive information on a “need to know” basis and safeguarding it from unauthorized use or disclosure. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree, required. Licensure/Certification: CHAM (or to be acquired within first 2 years). Experience: 5–7 years supervisor experience in hospital, practice, or patient billing specific to appointment and service scheduling; revenue cycle operation experience, including a healthcare call center, with a patient‑centered approach to best‑practice appointment scheduling. Skills & Knowledge: Demonstrated success in creating a patient‑centered environment. Revenue cycle management, including denial prevention and billing edits review. Critical thinking and service recovery abilities. Strong analytical skills for identifying process fail points and implementing improvements. Ability to think on your feet and resolve immediate patient complaints. Leadership, motivation, and team inspiration. System integration and workflow optimization expertise. Dashboard creation (daily, weekly, monthly) and cash target planning. Multi‑tasking in a high‑stress environment.
