In this role, you will serve as an experienced individual contributor on projects and assignments that are large and complex in nature and that support and enhance Caterpillar processes and product performance, durability, reliability, quality and serviceability.Additional Information:This position is located in Houston, TXTravel: up to and over 20% (depending on business demand)This position does not offer sponsorshipThis position is 5 days onsiteJob Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Technical LeadershipProvide technical leadership to process, mechanical, controls, and project engineering teams.Ability to mentor junior process engineers.Assist business development teams with customer presentations and technical discussions.Process Design & DevelopmentLead development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Heat and Material Balances, Process Simulations, and Basis of Design DocumentsPerform process simulations using Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, and other Aspen Suite tools.Perform technoeconomic evaluation of solutions based on process performance, economics, operability, and scalability.Identify performance improvement opportunities and cost reduction initiatives.Project ExecutionSupport project development from feasibility studies through FEED, detailed design, commissioning, and startup.Coordinate engineering deliverables across internal and external project teams.Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and 3-D model reviews.Review vendor packages and support equipment selection.Support construction, commissioning, startup, and performance testing activities.Client & Stakeholder EngagementProvide technical support during customer meetings and workshops.Interface with EPC companies, technology providers, and equipment vendors.Present engineering recommendations to internal leadership and external stakeholders.Support preparation of technical proposals and licensing packages.Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering /or Mechanical Engineering5+ years of oil and gas experience with increasing responsibilityIn depth knowledge of molecular sieve technologies including TSA, PSA and VPSAExperience in other gas processing technologies including amine absorption, membranes, and distillationMust have demonstrated excellent analytical skills and have an extensive understanding of complex engineering concepts and applicationsDemonstrated system level understanding of engines and/or gas turbines in compression, and power generation applicationsExpertise in heat transfer, phase separation, and contactor / separator designFamiliarity with engine emissions and aftertreatment optionsExperience with computational fluid dynamics software and applicationsExperience with chemical process flowsheets (Aspen Hysys, etc)Should demonstrate high Emotional Intelligence needed to be successful in a high-pressure environment while handling multiple projectsTop Candidates will also Have:The ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and to make sound priority decisionsStrong technical leadership skills and ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well with employees in other business units, management, and external suppliersWhat Will You Have: Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.Summary Pay Range:$128,470.00 - $192,710.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
