SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated Solutions Engineer to join our growing Digital team. This role will focus on enhancing and modernizing our existing Python-based workflows hosted on AWS, while developing new integrations between business platforms and incorporating logic that supports operational decision-making. The ideal candidate has a foundation in software development, is eager to learn modern cloud and integration frameworks, and can work closely with non-technical stakeholders to deliver practical, reliable solutions. This is a hybrid role based in Houston, TX, requiring on-site presence in alignment with business needs. Working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm local time. This position is expected to travel up to 10%. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Python & AWS/Azure Development Maintain and enhance existing Python scripts hosted in AWS (e.g., Lambda, EC2, or ECS) or Azure equivalent experience. Improve performance, reliability, and scalability of current automation processes. Implement error handling, logging, and monitoring best practices. Systems Integration Build and maintain integrations between business platforms (CRM, ERP, project management systems) using APIs, SDKs, and modern integration frameworks. Support ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows for data exchange between systems. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure integrations align with business workflows. Business Logic & Automation Incorporate business rules and conditional workflows into automated processes. Work with business teams to define requirements and translate them into code. Ensure that developed solutions improve data accuracy, efficiency, and visibility. Collaboration & Process Improvement Work closely with IT, analytics, and business operations teams to identify opportunities for automation and system improvements. Follow software development best practices, including version control, documentation, and code reviews. Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend ways to improve tools and processes. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 3+ years of professional software development experience (internships or co-op considered for entry-level). Proficiency in Python and experience with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, S3, API Gateway, CloudWatch) or Azure equivalent. Familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON-based data exchange. Understanding of software development best practices (Git, testing, CI/CD concepts).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with modern frameworks or tools for integration (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, Django, AWS Step Functions, Apache Airflow). Knowledge of ETL tools or middleware platforms (e.g., Mulesoft, Boomi, Make.com, Zapier). Familiarity with front-end frameworks or low-code platforms for rapid interface development. Basic knowledge of databases (SQL). Understanding of business workflows in construction, manufacturing, or project-based industries.
