Johnson County Area | Professional Services Organization A well-established and growing professional services company in Johnson County is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys wearing multiple hats, partnering with leadership, and building efficient financial processes within a dynamic business environment. The ideal candidate will be a QuickBooks Online expert with strong technical accounting skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to provide accurate financial information that supports business decisions. This role offers significant visibility with ownership and executive leadership and will play a key role in the continued growth and success of the organization. Key Responsibilities Oversee all day-to-day accounting and finance functions. Manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Maintain the general ledger and prepare monthly financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow reports. Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts. Monitor cash flow and assist leadership with forecasting and budgeting activities. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and billing processes. Maintain and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and financial workflows. Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for outside CPA firms, tax preparers, and auditors. Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements. Serve as the company's QuickBooks Online subject matter expert. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities. Extensive QuickBooks Online experience required. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Experience managing the full accounting cycle. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Ability to work independently and proactively solve problems. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional services industry experience is a plus.
