Therapist - Occupational Therapist

$2393.60/week -

Job Summary:

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing therapy programs to improve patients functional abilities. This role supervises Occupational Therapist Assistants and Aides and collaborates with physicians to ensure effective treatment plans.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess patients skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive functions using formal and informal testing measures.
  
  
• 
  Develop goal-specific treatment regimes based on assessment results and patient tolerance.
  
  
• 
  Submit and update individualized treatment plans, ensuring coordination with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  
  
• 
  Design treatment schedules specific to patient needs, discussing frequency and duration with patients, families, or caregivers.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients, families, and caregivers on pathology, treatment options, prognosis, and rationale through various interventions.
  
  
• 
  Supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students following regulatory and organizational standards.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an active Michigan Occupational Therapist license.
  
  
• 
  Possess a current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate at least 1 year of relevant outpatient and/or acute care experience.
  
  
• 
  Provide recent supervisory reference forms completed within the past two years.
  
  
• 
  Display strong assessment and treatment planning skills tailored to occupational therapy.
