Full job description: Duties Monitor and interpret patients' vital signs, such as heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians Document patients' medical histories, symptoms, and observations Educate patients and their families about their conditions and provide emotional support Operate and maintain specialized medical equipment used in telemetry monitoring Respond to emergency situations and provide appropriate interventions Qualifications valid Medicaid ID number Valid nursing license in the state of New York Proven experience as a Telemetry Nurse or in a similar role Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring equipment and interpretation of telemetry data Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems for documentation purposes Understanding of infection control protocols and ability to maintain a clean and safe patient environment Skills Case management: Ability to coordinate care across multiple healthcare providers and ensure continuity of care for patients. Family planning: Knowledge of contraceptive methods, reproductive health, and family planning services. Utilization review: Understanding of the process of evaluating the appropriateness, necessity, and efficiency of medical services. Medical office systems: Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems, scheduling software, and other medical office technologies. Standards: Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to nursing practice and patient care. Infection control: Knowledge of infection prevention protocols to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections. Primary care: Understanding of primary care principles and ability to provide comprehensive care to patients across the lifespan. Dementia care: Experience or training in providing specialized care for patients with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
