About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty required. License: KY or compact license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: - Progressive Care experience, Medical/Surgical Acute Care, Telemetry experience required. - EKG interpretation required. - Ability to manage dysrhythmias and provide post TPA care. - Neuro/stroke experience preferred. - Ability to work weekends and holidays is mandatory. Description: This position requires the ability to work 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week period. The unit specializes in stroke patients. Floating to other PCUs may be required as needed. Candidates must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience with telemetry and critical care patients is essential. Preferred candidates will have ICU experience and neuro/stroke experience. Candidates will be responsible for patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. Strong collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is expected. Familiarity with the Epic charting system is required. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with cerebrovascular accidents and intracranial bleeds. Care for patients undergoing neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and seizure disorders will be part of the responsibilities. Compliance with all required competencies and exams is necessary.
