About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgery Center Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required. Excellent IV skills, instilling prescribed pupil-dilating drops, patient interviews, and assessments. License: Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association is required. ACLS and PALS are also required. Must-Have: Ability to recover phase 1 PACU patients, manage airways, and manage pain or nausea in patients aged 6 months to 95 years. Familiarity with surgical eye cases strongly preferred (cataracts, cornea, retina, glaucoma, plastics). Ability to maintain a fast pace and embrace teamwork. Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physician in examining patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients and observes physiological manifestations. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients in sharing care plans during their stay and at discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
