Registered Nurse (RN) Step Down Unit

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Step Down Unit on a travel assignment. The ideal candidate must have previous ICU experience and be proficient in Epic Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to individuals requiring step-down or intermediate-level nursing care.
• Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and responses to treatment.
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient status.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and patient safety standards.

Required Qualifications

• Active Rhode Island RN license or authorization to practice in Rhode Island.
• Previous ICU experience REQUIRED.
• Epic EMR experience REQUIRED.
• Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to manage multiple patients in a high-acuity setting.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Step Down or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience.
• Experience with continuous cardiac monitoring and complex patient care.
