Controller

Location: Albany, NY | Hybrid | 35-hour work week (One day in office/week)

Fusco Personnel is conducting a search on behalf of a financial services organization serving the credit union and residential mortgage industries for an experienced Controller to join its three-person Finance team.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role will oversee daily accounting operations for a residential mortgage origination and servicing business, as well as an affiliated nonprofit organization. 

Responsibilities include month-end close, financial statements, reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting, regulatory and compliance reporting, audits, mortgage servicing accounting, and financial analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience; CPA firm experience preferred
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and consolidations
• Experience with accounting systems and reporting tools
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple entities and competing priorities
• Proactive approach to process improvement and internal controls
• Excellent communication skills

Compensation: $76,000–$110,000
