RN - Inpatient Rehabilitation Nurse

Deliver professional nursing care to patients within an inpatient rehabilitation setting. This role involves collaborating closely with physicians to provide comprehensive care, mentoring new staff and students, and performing nursing duties within the scope defined by licensing boards.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and evaluate patient needs, maintaining detailed care plans.
- Promote patient independence by setting care goals and involving patients and families in discussions about medical issues, testing, medications, and self-care.
- Administer and manage medications accurately and timely.
- Educate patients and families on physical, emotional, and psychosocial care aspects, including disease processes and symptom management.
- Document patient care thoroughly and promptly according to policy.
- Observe and report changes in patients' physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual conditions.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations regarding Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Foster effective communication and professional relationships with patients, families, healthcare team members, and external agencies.
Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Licenses and Certifications: Current Registered Nurse licensure in a compact state required. BLS/CPR certification required within 30 days of hire or by orientation end. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIHSS, or AWHONN may be required depending on department policy. Experience: Previous experience in a similar clinical environment is preferred. Skills and Abilities: Strong nursing principles application, effective communication, computer literacy, multitasking, and prioritization skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform heavy work occasionally exerting up to 100 lbs and frequently up to 20 lbs. Standing or walking for 51-75% of the workday may be required.
