Groundskeeper

MalaceHR is seeking a reliable and motivated Groundskeeper to support day-to-day grounds and landscaping operations at a college campus in Prairie View, TX. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and visually appealing outdoor environment for students, faculty, and visitors. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, can operate landscaping equipment safely, and works well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing

• Maintain lawns, landscaped areas, walkways, and common outdoor spaces

• Remove debris, leaves, and litter from campus grounds

• Assist with seasonal landscaping tasks such as planting, mulching, and leaf removal

• Operate and maintain grounds equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools

• Report safety hazards, damaged landscaping, or equipment issues to supervision

• Support special campus events with setup and cleanup as needed

• Follow all safety procedures and campus guidelines

Qualifications

• Prior groundskeeping or landscaping experience preferred

• Zero-turn mower experience preferred but not required

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor throughout the shift

• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow directions

• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining campus appearance
