Level II Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg

Location: Rochester, NY
Job Type: Contract
Shift: Rotating Days/Evenings/Nights
Schedule: Every Other Weekend (EOW) | Holidays, On-Call, Callback & Charge as needed

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Level II Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med/Surg position. The RN will provide competent, patient-centered care under the direction of the Nurse Manager while following established nursing standards and evidence-based practices.

The Level II RN may also take on an expanded role, including charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities .

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, competent nursing care in accordance with established standards and clinical practices.
• Assess, monitor, and manage patients in a Med/Surg environment.
• Utilize telemetry knowledge and skills to provide appropriate patient care.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Participate in professional development, service excellence, research, and evidence-based practice.
• Serve in expanded roles such as charge nurse or preceptor based on unit needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.

Requirements

• Active New York RN License – NY License ONLY
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Telemetry experience required
• BLS certification – AHA only
• Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule including days, evenings, and nights
• Must be available to work every other weekend
• Must be available for holidays, on-call, callback, and charge responsibilities as required by the unit

Important Schedule Information

No straight-shift schedules are available. Candidates must be comfortable working rotating Day/Evening/Night (D/E/N) shifts according to unit requirements.
