Registered Nurse - Endoscopy

RN – Endoscopy (PRN) SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital – St. Charles is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct nursing care in the Endoscopy Department. The position is Public Relief Nursing (PRN) with shift hours Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with additional call coverage on weeknights and weekends. Schedule & Call Requirements Minimum of 3 call shifts per month, including at least one weekend shift. Early shift start 6:00 AM if required. Responsibilities Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions. Coordinate all disciplines for well‑coordinated patient care. Record and carry out physician and nursing orders. Coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team. Apply evidence‑based practice and scientific knowledge to nursing care. Use the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide clinical decisions. Work in a state of alertness and maintain safe practices. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Active RN license in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin. Endoscopy experience not required. Familiarity with endoscopy procedures and procedural nursing care preferred. Ability to work flexible hours and respond to scheduled call. Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent for licensing. Physical Requirements Constant use of speech, standing, walking; frequent lifting 0–25 lbs., pushing, pulling. Frequent sitting, reaching, keyboard use, and data entry. Visual, olfactory, and auditory requirements for patient monitoring. Occasional lifting 25–50 lbs., patient moving, bending, kneeling, twisting. Occasional driving; rare crawling and running. Licensing & Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) – Illinois: State of Work Location (IDFPR). Basic Life Support – Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association. Registered Nurse (RN) – Missouri: Division of Professional Registration. Registered Nurse (RN) – Missouri or Ontario: Compact State or Board of Nursing. Registered Nurse (RN) – Oklahoma/ Wisconsin: Board of Nursing or Department of Safety and Professional Services. Shift Details Work shift: PRN / Per Diem. Scheduled weekly hours: 0.
