SIMON | Ready Mix Driver

Job Summary Operates a commercial truck equipped with an auxiliary mixer to deliver ready‑mix concrete to job sites. Main Responsibilities Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Simon Steering and Continuous Improvement teams Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies Maneuver the truck under a loading hopper to receive sand, gravel, cement, and water and start the mixer Perform slump loads to specifications/requirements Drive the truck to the location for unloading and ensure conditions at the job site are safe Interact professionally with internal and external customers Assemble chutes and attach them to the truck; operate controls on the truck to release concrete down the truck chute into a wheelbarrow, other conveying container, or directly into the area to be poured Perform daily pre‑ and post‑trip safety checks on equipment and the truck to assure a safe vehicle; document any maintenance that may be required Clean the truck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening on the mixer and on the truck May operate other equipment such as loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and dump trucks Assist with the form/pour/strip of precast products May spray the surfaces of the truck with a protective/cleaning compound to prevent concrete from adhering Assist work crews as required; assist with maintenance of plant and equipment Maintain necessary documentation, timecards, and other required paperwork Education / Experience Class B CDL with Air Brakes and a clean driving history Skills At least 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred Basic industrial truck maintenance experience preferred, but not required Prior experience working with concrete production, construction, and/or related fields preferred Ability to maintain a clean driving record and comply with applicable FMCSA CDL driver requirements Ability to work with multiple types of individuals and interact professionally with internal and external customers Ability to read, write, and understand basic documents Physical Requirements / Working Conditions Wear and maintain required PPE (personal protective equipment) to ensure safe performance of job responsibilities as required Regularly required to work from a seated position driving a commercial vehicle for long periods to safely operate and control the vehicle during transport duties Regularly required to climb in and out of vehicles and/or equipment to access the operator’s area and perform essential job tasks Regularly required to use hands for tasks such as feeling, handling, and manipulating objects, including vehicle components, securing hoses, chains, and couplings, as well as writing and operating a keyboard or mobile device Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear) to exchange essential information, receive instructions, and ensure safe and effective work coordination Regularly works in changing environmental conditions such as outdoor weather, dust, or airborne particles due to the nature of operational work sites Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals to complete tasks involving vehicle operation, inspection, and maintenance processes Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds to handle materials, tools, and equipment essential to job functions with or without assistance Frequently works in environments that may include loud noise, moving equipment, dust, or varying indoor/outdoor conditions depending on operational needs Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches, and stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls to access work areas and complete required tasks Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and overtime; overnight travel may be required Benefits Choice of 3 medical plan options Prescription drug coverage Dental and vision plans Flexible spending account or health savings options Access to telemedicine and healthcare advocacy services Paid parental leave Employee assistance program Life and AD&D insurance Disability insurance Paid time off and paid holidays 401(k) savings plan with company match Product and service group discount programs Application window anticipated to close on 07/15/2026; open until filled.
