Senior Manager of Business Operations

Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Senior Manager of Business Operations on behalf of our client, a leading provider of tax documentation and compliance systems.


The Senior Manager of Business Operations will serve as a key operational leader responsible for improving cross-functional execution, strengthening internal processes, and ensuring teams remain aligned with company standards and priorities. This role acts as a managerial execution layer across departments by providing visibility into workflows, supporting process discipline, coordinating complex initiatives, and partnering with technical teams on systems and application improvements. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, process-driven professional with experience managing operational complexity, cross-functional projects, workflow systems, and business process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as an operational leader supporting department managers with visibility, accountability, and execution across teams.
• Coordinate cross-functional workflows, projects, deadlines, and handoffs to ensure alignment with company standards.
• Monitor operational priorities, identify risks, and proactively address stalled work, process gaps, and resource needs.
• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, and internal processes.
• Partner with Information Systems, system administrators, developers, and technical teams to support business applications and workflow improvements.
• Serve as a business-side owner for front-end applications, workflow tools, user experience improvements, and system enhancement priorities.
• Gather business requirements and translate operational needs into system expectations and improvement opportunities.
• Support internal data policies, confidentiality standards, access controls, and documentation requirements.
• Coordinate implementation of process improvements across multiple departments.
• Ensure teams follow approved procedures, workflows, and operational standards.
• Provide reporting and updates to senior management regarding:
  • Project status
  • Deadlines
  • Operational risks
  • System needs
  • Resource requirements
• Assist with application testing, workflow optimization, and operational troubleshooting.
• Manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
• Support department managers with execution, follow-up, and accountability.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements include: Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent professional experience in operations, project management, systems operations, or business process management may be considered.

Experience:

• Strong experience in operations management, workflow management, project management, product operations, systems operations, or team leadership.
• Experience managing work across multiple departments and stakeholders.
• Experience coordinating with managers, cross-functional teams, Information Systems, developers, system administrators, or technical owners.
• Experience managing multiple priorities, deadlines, projects, systems, applications, or operational initiatives simultaneously.
• Experience gathering business requirements and supporting application improvements or workflow tools.
• Experience working in a deadline-driven, high-accountability professional environment.
• Experience implementing SOPs, process improvements, or operational standards preferred.
• Experience in tax, accounting, legal, financial services, healthcare, consulting, compliance, or other regulated environments preferred.

• Certifications related to Microsoft tools, systems administration, or data analytics are preferred but not required.
