Senior Safety ManagerMortenson is looking for a Senior Safety Manager who will provide management, leadership, direction, and support within Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety program for multiple project teams and construction sites.Senior Safety Manager must be local or open to relocating to project site in NM OR Texas.ResponsibilitiesPlan, lead, and manage the implementation of Zero Injury Safety Program elements and initiatives throughout the operating groupLead and support safety program collaboration across multiple organizations, including trade partners and joint-venture partnersConduct and review site hazard assessments with project management during planning and construction phasesDevelop, schedule, and conduct safety training, including train-the-trainer sessions, and create group-specific safety orientation contentOversee project documentation, tracking, and analysis of all Safety, Injury, and Hazard statistics, trend analyses, and OSHA reportsMonitor onsite construction activities through audits and observations, documenting deficiencies and corrective actionsLead incident reporting, investigation, and analysis, and coach safety managers in high-risk plan reviewProvide professional direction and mentorship to Safety staff, including development opportunities and hosting learning sessionsMaintain operational knowledge of construction safety, OSHA, ANSI, and other applicable standards, regulations, and proceduresSupport the operating group safety director and safety leadership team in achieving and maintaining safety performance metrics, and assist in incident response as neededQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or related fieldORHigh school diploma plus CHST, OSHA 500 and a minimum of 14 years of continuous construction experience leading crews and planning work (including at least eight years as a dedicated construction safety professional responsible for managing large project and/or multi-project safety programs, conducting and reviewing hazard analyses and developing controls, conducting safety training, and working with project teams and leadership to plan work activities) and previous experience working on very large, complex projects with a high volume of subcontractor workers and managing a team of safety professionals preferredAt least eight years as a dedicated construction safety professional managing large project/multi-project safety program, conducting hazard analyses, developing controls, and conducting safety trainingExperience working on large, complex projects with a high volume of subcontractor workersManaging a team of safety professionals preferredCertified Safety Professional (CSP) preferredOrganizational and computer skills to support multiple project teams, acting as regional/market safety lead where appropriatePositive and professional attitude, strong customer service skills, and ability to interpret and communicate company policiesEffective public speaking and presentation skills, strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skillsAbility to coach and influence operating group and project leaders in safety managementActive listening skills and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedbackAbility to travel up to 100%Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and Affirmative Action PlansValid driver's licenseA few benefits offered include:Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverageDental plan401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson matchPaid time off, holidays, and other paid leavesEmployer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insuranceNo-Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resourcesTuition reimbursementAdoption AssistanceGym Membership Discount Program**The base pay range for this role is $113,500 MIN - $170,300 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
