Automotive Technician

Job DescriptionRole Description The Automotive Technician role at Paretti Mazda is a full-time, on-site position located in Metairie, LA. Pay will be gauged by your experince and abilites. In this role, the technician performs routine maintenance and inspections, including oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, and basic vehicle safety checks. The technician diagnoses and repairs mechanical issues, completes scheduled service tasks, and documents all work performed in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards.Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with service advisors, using diagnostic tools and service manuals, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and ensuring vehicles are returned to customers in optimal condition. The technician also follows all safety protocols and participates in ongoing training to stay current on Mazda service procedures and emerging automotive technologies.QualificationsStrong skills in vehicle maintenance, including routine inspections and scheduled service.Experience performing oil changes and related fluid services accurately and efficiently.Competence in automotive repair and general maintenance & repair tasks, including basic diagnostics.Ability to read and interpret service manuals, technical bulletins, and repair orders.Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and commitment to safety and quality workmanship.Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a service team environment.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.Willingness to participate in ongoing training, including Mazda-specific service and diagnostic programs.
