Software Engineer

Technical AnalystThe Technical Analyst is part of a team of developers whose primary responsibility is to develop applications predominantly utilizing Microsoft technologies to support the business. In this position, you will be expected to meet with key stakeholders to understand and document business requirements, develop and design efficient program components using industry standards and best practices, document test results, and raise tickets as needed for production deployments. You will also participate in creating project plans and reporting project status to management. You will also provide production support for applications that support the stores, website, and corporate office.Position Responsibilities:Work with stakeholders to design and document user requirementsMaintain existing applications as well as develop new applicationsDevelop, test and implement code following best practices and coding standardsCollaborate with team members to build effective, scalable solutionsParticipate in status meeting and be able to communicate project statusPosition Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical degree, or equivalent experienceFive years of working experience in Dot Net ProgrammingFive years or working experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle databasesKnowledge of Retail or Retail based systems a plusCobol a plusKnowledge of EDI a plusMicrosoft.Net C#Microsoft.Net framework version 4.5 and aboveMicrosoft.Net Core framework version 2.0 and aboveWPF, Winforms, Webforms and MVCAPI's and Web ServicesClient side scripting using Java Script and JQueryVisual Studio 2013 and aboveSQL Server 2012 including SSMS, SSRS and SSISOracle and SQL DeveloperETL Processing to load and generate filesWeb API, LINQ, ADO.Net and AzureDesign patternsDistributed and scalable application developmentFamiliarity with version control systems such as PVCS/Subversion/TFSStrong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to clearly articulate yourself and ideas both verbally and in writing to users and management.Motivated independent self-starter.Must be able to comprehend business processes.Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills.Ability to work well independently and in a team-oriented environment.Ability to take initiative and responsibility.Suggests and share technical alternatives to improve and streamline processes.Local candidates only please as this role will require on-site time in our Westbury, NY office location.An employee in this position can expect an annual starting rate of $120,000 - $135,000 depending on experience, seniority, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law.Benefits for those who are scheduled to work less than 20 hours per week include Employee Discount, EAP and Sick Pay.
