Cook needed for school food service in the Mainland, NJ area. Monday through Friday, day shift, 6 am to 12 pm. No weekends or holidays, summers off! We follow a 10-month school calendar.Looking for a rewarding career with family - friendly schedule. Join our school nutrition team as a Cook in a High School Setting and help provide healthy, delicious meals to our students every day. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking, working with children, and being part of a supportive school community.Responsibilities:Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch for high school students.Serve meals in a friendly and efficient manner.Complete daily production records accurately.Count and monitor food and supply inventory.Operate a Point of Sale (POS) system or learn to use one.Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.Wash dishes and assist with daily kitchen cleaning.Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.Work collaboratively with the school nutrition team to ensure excellent meal service.Qualifications:Previous cooking experience in a restaurant, cafeteria, school, healthcare or other commercial kitchen preferred.Experience with inventory and recordkeeping is a plus.POS system experience preferred, or the ability to learn.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to stand for extended periods, lift kitchen supplies, and perform the physical duties of the position.Why Join Our Team?Competitive pay depending on experience.Monday - Friday schedule with holidays and breaks that align with the school calendar.Meaningful work serving children in your community.Friendly and supportive team environment with opportunities to grow.Apply today!
