ABOUT THE ROLE

Vanguard Maintenance & Electrical is building out its Austin regional operations to support high-profile commercial and institutional projects across the city. We’re looking for a Project Manager who’s ready to lead—someone with genuine BMS controls and low voltage expertise, strong client‑facing skills, and the organizational horsepower to drive complex projects from start to finish. Report directly to the Project Executive and grow fast in a company that rewards performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Own day‑to‑day project operations from field execution to financial tracking Lead, mentor, and support Superintendents, Installers, and field crew on site Collaborate with clients, GC/CM, vendors, and internal teams to maintain project alignment Plan, schedule, and coordinate all BMS controls and low voltage construction phases Drive QA/QC processes to ensure high‑quality BMS and low voltage installations Oversee materials, labor, and equipment for maximum efficiency and productivity Coordinate with HR, Payroll, Housing, and Safety for smooth project operations Manage material deliveries, expediting, and inventory flow Track project financials—change orders, billing, and budget management Establish and maintain scheduling, earned value, and labor analysis on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis Evaluate project risks, maintain a risk register, and monitor mitigation plans Attend monthly Project Status Review (PSR) meetings with Regional Operations and Finance Foster strong team morale and cultivate leadership within the field workforce

QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of project management experience in BMS controls or low voltage electrical (required) Experience on commercial or institutional projects—healthcare, education, or infrastructure (highly preferred) Prior formal PM title or role (a major plus) Skilled in reading and interpreting BMS drawings, low voltage plans, and technical specifications Familiarity with estimating, budgeting, billing, and project financial processes Experience collaborating cross‑functionally with operational departments Willingness to travel regionally as project needs require

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Deep knowledge of BMS systems, control sequences, and building automation protocols Experience with earned value management and labor productivity analysis Familiarity with pull planning, Lean construction, or BIM coordination Knowledge of OSHA regulations and site safety compliance requirements Proficiency with construction management software and digital reporting platforms
