MIG Welder Highlights Selecting, measuring, cutting, and joining metals to specifications. Monitoring parts to meet specifications. Interpreting blueprints and schematics. Cleansing and inspecting welding equipment & tools. Maintaining minimum 1 year of MIG welding experience (TIG welding a plus). Metal parts fabrication experience preferred. Verbal and written communication skills. Pay & Hours Day Shift (6:00am–2:30pm) and Evening Shift (4:00pm–12:00am). $18.00–$25.00 /hour to start with opportunities for performance pay increases. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Selecting, measuring, cutting, and joining appropriate metals to specifications. Preparing metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assembly. Interpreting specifications and blueprints accurately. Regularly cleaning and inspecting welding equipment and tools. Determining correct gas ratios. Testing the strength of each joint during and after project completion. Diagnosing issues and troubleshooting as required. Liaising with the line manager or supervisor, reporting any issues and making suggestions for improvement. Working under the instruction of the Supervisor or Department Assistant. Complying with all health and safety procedures. Performing additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Lead. Qualifications Minimum of 1‑2 years’ MIG welding experience (TIG welding experience a plus). High school diploma or GED equivalent. Machine setup experience, a plus. Knowledge of manual and mechanical welding techniques. Ability to read and understand blueprints preferred. Excellent stamina, strength, and dexterity. Ability to remain calm under pressure. Verbal and written communication in English. Sound understanding of welding safety. Basic math skills. Ability to perform repetitive bending, kneeling, and lift cumbersome and/or heavy objects (up to 50 lbs). Willingness to learn and work overtime when required.
