Associate Director of Development

This position has been deemed critical by the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability Dean’s Office and is exempt from the hiring pause. This position is based on Stanford’s main campus, with consideration given to the option for a hybrid work schedule (partially onsite and offsite up to a max of 2 days per week), subject to operational need. The Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability is seeking an experienced development professional with a strong track record and a commitment to succeed. The successful candidate will join a small team of fundraisers at the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability responsible for generating financial support for the school’s highest priorities, including expendable, endowment, and capital support. Development officers operate independently in assigned areas and are responsible for prospect identification and solicitation, in coordination with the central Office of Development. Your Responsibilities Developing solicitation goals, objectives, and strategies to cultivate and solicit gifts. Managing an active portfolio and tracking solicitation assignments and progress. Maintaining an active level of contacts and identifying new prospective donors, developing new relationships, and building on existing relationships. Establishing and enhancing relationships between current and prospective donors and the school’s faculty and dean, and preparing faculty and the dean for meaningful and productive engagement with current and prospective donors. Constantly refreshing knowledge of school programs, research, and gift opportunities, and sharing that knowledge in a clear and compelling way with prospective donors. Stay informed on current university initiatives, activities, and policies. Regular travel may be required.
