Senior Director, Corporate Positioning & Insights

About The Role The Corporate Positioning & Insights team is looking for a Senior Director who will take a leadership role in the day‑to‑day management of client accounts, while also supporting new business and team initiatives. Our practice partners with clients to design and execute multi‑stakeholder campaigns that build confidence, enhance positioning and elicit action. A successful Senior Director will manage internal teams and interact with C‑suite executives to develop and execute integrated communications strategies, deliver high‑quality client work, and grow the practice. Responsibilities Develop and advise on clients’ multi‑stakeholder integrated communications strategies, often including paid media and influencer engagement. Serve as the day‑to‑day client contact for multiple accounts, anticipating needs with minimal oversight. Manage client projects, identifying resources and ensuring high‑quality work is delivered on time and within budget. Develop corporate narratives, editorial frameworks, key messages and talking points. Write and edit a variety of internal and external materials for clients, such as strategy memos, presentations, press releases, talking points, emails, web content and social media content, with strong attention to detail. Understand and implement measurement frameworks to define and track clients’ KPIs. Have a point of view on the best use of AI in communications. Counsel clients about industry developments, trends and issues. Maintain strong relationships with clients and identify emerging opportunities to add more value. Participate in the generation of new business proposals and presentations. Cultivate an internal and external network and identify areas where the team can support additional initiatives. Support practice leadership by delivering thought leadership on emerging trends, mentoring junior staff, managing teams, and fostering a positive culture. Anticipate potentially difficult situations and evaluate strategies with senior management. Effectively manage competing demands for time. You will partner with internal specialty teams to tackle high‑visibility client challenges across industries, sharing diverse perspectives and learning in a collaborative environment. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Minimum 10 years of work experience at a communications agency or a relevant in‑house communications team. Travel required to clients and to FTI office(s). Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications Provide expert communications, advocacy, positioning and strategic counsel to clients. Experience working with the media to shape coverage and secure meaningful engagement through traditional news, digital, trade, podcasts, etc. Experience developing executive positioning and thought‑leadership campaigns for senior‑level executives. Experience with ESG/CSR‑related initiatives and programs. Experience with influencer strategy and new media outlets. Superior writing, editing and researching skills; understanding of Associated Press Style Guidelines. Desire and ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking, deadline‑oriented dynamic environment with regular change. Proven project management skills and ability to counsel key client relationships. Demonstrated development of a professional network. Experience with media database tools and pitching media to secure client coverage. Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
