Facilities & Maintenance Technician

Facilities & Maintenance Technician Do you take pride in creating safe, welcoming spaces where people can feel at home? The YWCA is looking for a Facilities & Maintenance Technician who values quality work, reliability, and the impact that a well-maintained space can have on people's lives. This role supports our Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) properties, administrative office, and Early Learning Center. Your work will help ensure residents, staff, children, and visitors have clean, safe, and functional spaces every day. In this role, you will: Complete routine and preventive maintenance throughout residential properties and assigned facilities Respond to work orders and complete repairs in a timely and professional way Repair and maintain items such as plumbing fixtures, lighting, appliances, doors, locks, drywall, flooring, and other building needs Prepare apartment units for new residents through painting, minor repairs, and turnover work Inspect apartments, common areas, and building systems to identify safety concerns Support emergency maintenance needs and after-hours situations when needed Maintain tools, supplies, maintenance records, and repair documentation Work with vendors and contractors to coordinate repairs and ensure quality work is completed Partner with property management and supportive services teams to help create a positive living environment for residents This role is a great fit for someone who: Enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in completing projects thoroughly Has strong attention to detail and good problem-solving skills Can work independently while also collaborating with a team Communicates respectfully with residents, staff, vendors, and community partners Understands that safe and welcoming spaces support the well-being of others What to expect: Full-time, non-exempt position Pay range of $22–$25 per hour Work across multiple YWCA properties, including housing, office, and Early Learning Center spaces A role where your daily work directly supports residents, families, and the community Opportunities to use your skills while contributing to a mission-driven organization Previous maintenance, building operations, apartment maintenance, or facilities experience is preferred. Experience in affordable housing, supportive housing, property management, or nonprofit settings is a plus. Trade training or technical certifications are helpful but not required. The most important qualities we are looking for are dependability, professionalism, respect for others, and pride in your work. This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working indoors and outdoors.
