Job Summary:
The Progressive Care Unit Nursing position is located in Grafton, Wisconsin. This role involves caring for high acuity medical, surgical, and cardiac patients within a unit functioning similarly to an intensive care stepdown. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day and should have at least two years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit or similar setting.

Job Details:

• Location: Grafton, Wisconsin
• Schedule: Night shifts, 1900-0700, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; minimum two years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit; valid license to practice.
• Preferred Qualifications: EPIC electronic medical record system experience; charge nurse experience is preferred but not required.
• Patient Population and Conditions: Progressive Care and Medical Surgical patients, including cardiothoracic surgeries, COVID-19 pneumonia, hypoxia, COPD, CHF, atrial fibrillation, SVT, urinary tract infections, sepsis, suicidal ideation, diabetic ketoacidosis, bariatrics, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and various respiratory therapies.
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:3-5 depending on acuity.
• Skills Required: Telemetry interpretation, management of chronic tracheostomies, chest tubes, high-flow oxygen systems, IV starts, and drips (heparin, insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitro not titrated).
• Support and Equipment: CNA support with a 1:5-8 ratio, HUC during the day, float within scope of practice, remote telemetry monitoring; bedside monitors (GE B650), IV pumps (Alaris), and medication dispensing (Pyxis).
• Orientation: One shift of facility and unit orientation.
• Float: May float within scope of practice, including possible float to ICU to care for PCU-level patients.
• Additional Information: Every other holiday work; weekend rotation approximately every other or less, with flexible scheduling including some Sunday nights.
• Schedule: Night shift, 1900-0700, with minimum 36 hours per week.
• On Call: No.
• Approval for RTO: Must go through manager.
• Scrub Color: Any solid, professional color with no graphics, logos, or designs.
