If you're ready to bring your HR expertise to an organization where the work has a meaningful purpose, we want to hear from you.Job DetailsPay: $127,000 - $150,000 annually; exceptional candidates may be considered above rangeSchedule: Monday - Friday with flexibility for weekend coverageShift Time: 9:00am - 6:00pm (sometimes later if needed)Start Date: ASAP!Employment Type: Direct Hire/PermanentDepartment: Human Resources/AdministrationLocation: Los Angeles, CaliforniaBenefitsDirect Hire/Permanent OpportunityCommunity outreachCompetitive salaryHealth insuranceRefer-a-friend bonusSign-On and/or relocation assistance may be consideredPersonalized serviceRequiredBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related fieldMinimum of 7-10 Years of progressive Human Resources experienceMinimum of 3-5 years of HR management or senior leadership experience with strategic responsibilityProven experience working in a unionized environment, including labor relations, grievances, collective bargaining agreements, and contract administration.Strong employee relations experience, including performance management, investigations, corrective action, conflict resolution, and employee grievancesStrong knowledge of California and federal employment laws, including wage and hour, ADA, FMLA/CFRA, workers' compensation, and other applicable employment regulationsExperience directly leading, coaching, and developing HR staff while establishing performance expectations and accountabilityExperience overseeing multiple HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, compliance, training, and workforce planningRequired Skills & AbilitiesStrong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and executive-level advisory skillsAbility to manage sensitive employee matters with sound judgement, professionalism, discretion, and confidentialityAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and respond to evolving organizational needsResponsibilitiesProvide strategic and hands-on leadership for the Human Resources function, aligning HR programs, policies, and priorities with organizational goals and continued growth.Lead, coach, and develop the HR team while establishing clear performance expectations, accountability standards, and opportunities for professional development.Serve as a trusted HR advisor to executive leadership and managers, providing guidance on complex employee relations, workforce planning, organizational needs, and employment-related risk.Lead employee relations matters including workplace investigations, performance management, corrective action, conflict resolution, complaints, and disciplinary processes.Manage labor relations within a unionized environment, including grievances, collective bargaining agreements, labor-management meetings, contract administration, and union negotiations.Coach and train managers on effective employee counseling, performance documentation, attendance management, overtime practices, meal-period compliance, and consistent application of organizational policies.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and California employment laws and regulations, including wage and hour, ADA, FMLA/CFRA, workers' compensation, and other applicable requirements.Oversee talent acquisition and workforce planning strategies to support organizational growth, improve internal recruiting capabilities, and address current and future staffing needs.Monitor recruitment, employee relations, workforce, and other HR metrics to identify trends, strengthen processes, and support data-informed decision-making.Oversee the development, review, implementation, and consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and practices throughout the organization.Provide strategic oversight of compensation, benefits, workplace safety, workers' compensation, and other HR programs to support compliance, employee retention, and organizational effectiveness.Lead training, leadership development, employee engagement, and organizational development initiatives that strengthen manager effectiveness, accountability, and workplace culture.Partner with leadership and legal counsel, when appropriate, to address sensitive, complex, or high-risk employment matters while ensuring appropriate documentation and resolution.Continuously evaluate HR systems, processes, and service delivery to identify opportunities for greater efficiency, consistency, employee experience, and organizational effectiveness.
