Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with strong ortho, neuro, and general surgical skills for a Level I trauma OR position.

Details

Level I trauma OR for southwest Virginia with 25 OR suites and 24x7 on-site nursing coverage

Services include general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastics, gynecology, oncology, robotic surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, pediatrics, and sports medicine

Patient population includes neonates, adolescents, infants, pediatrics, and geriatrics

Uses specialized equipment including ROSA, Si and Xi daVinci robots, Stealth, O-Arm, and HIPEC

3x12-hour day shifts, 7am-7pm, Friday through Sunday plus one holiday per 13-week contract

No on-call requirements

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience required

Strong general, orthopedic (total joints), and neurosurgery experience required

Big belly/crani/ortho trauma experience highly preferred

Robotic training highly preferred

BLS certification required

NBSTSA, NCCT, or military OR Tech certification required

License required if applicable

Magnet-designated for nursing excellence and affiliated with a school of medicine

Certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center

First-time travelers accepted

Local candidates not accepted; radius rule applies

Facility allows one call-off shift per 2-week period

Previous employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler, subject to updated separation policy effective July 1, 2025
