Accounting Technician – Junior

Duration: 6 Months contract possible extension

Location: 5th Ave. and Roosevelt Rd., Building 37 NW Dock 18, Hines, IL 69141

Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM Monday through Friday

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Technician - Junior to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and financial management, along with excellent problem-solving skills. This role provides professional accounting and financial management services to Federal, State, Local, and other Government clients.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a team lead or senior team member in providing accounting and financial services.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing Federal financial statements, budgets, and reports.
• Possess a working knowledge of the U.S. Standard General Ledger and Federal budget execution.
• Reconcile and remedy fiscal discrepancies efficiently and accurately.
• Evaluate products and procedures for compliance with Government standards and financial management regulations.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations and data entry tasks.
• Utilize PC computer systems and typing skills to complete assignments.
• Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to document processes and address issues.

Requirements:

• Education: BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management.
• Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations and data entry.
• Basic typing and computer skills, including familiarity with PC systems.
• Fluency in English (reading, understanding, speaking, and writing).

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Federal financial management practices and regulations.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
