About the Role
The Company is in search of an Executive Director of Development to lead philanthropic efforts in support of its academic cancer enterprise. This role is pivotal in advancing the mission of the cancer center, which is dedicated to research, education, and patient-centered care. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive major and principal gifts strategy, managing a portfolio of high-capacity donors, and leading a team of development professionals. Collaboration with senior academic and clinical leaders is essential, as is the ability to translate institutional and clinical priorities into compelling philanthropic opportunities. The ideal Executive Director will have a proven track record in securing major gifts and a deep understanding of the role of philanthropy in advancing complex academic health missions. They will work closely with the cancer center's leadership, faculty, and key stakeholders to sustain philanthropic success and position the enterprise for its next phase of advancement. The role requires a strategic thinker, a trusted partner, and a visible ambassador who is deeply committed to the mission and impact of the academic cancer program. Philanthropy is a critical enabler of the center's ambitious agenda, which includes expanding translational research, growing the clinical trials enterprise, and enhancing patient-centered care models.
