Finance Associate

Finance Associate, Financial Analyst, Strategic Finance & FP&A Mackie Myers is partnering with a high-growth consumer goods business to hire a Finance Associate into its Strategic Finance and FP&A team. This role is designed for someone coming directly from Investment Banking who wants to move into an operating business and apply their financial modeling and analytical skillset to real commercial and strategic decisions. The successful candidate will likely have completed approximately two years within Investment Banking and be looking to make their first move into industry. This is not a traditional FP&A role. There will be a significant emphasis on financial modeling, scenario analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and long-term planning. The Role You will work across FP&A and Strategic Finance, supporting decision making across a fast-paced and growing consumer business. Responsibilities will include: Building and maintaining detailed financial models Supporting annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting Developing short and long-term financial plans Cash flow forecasting and liquidity analysis Scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis Analyzing business performance and identifying key financial and operational drivers Building models to assess new initiatives, investments and commercial opportunities Supporting management reporting and executive-level financial analysis Partnering with teams across the business to improve financial visibility and decision making Producing detailed analysis to support strategic initiatives Helping improve forecasting, planning and modeling processes as the business continues to scale Candidate Profile Investment Banking experience is a key requirement for this position. We are looking for someone with: Approximately 2 years of Investment Banking experience Strong financial modeling skills Strong understanding of financial statements and cash flow Experience building detailed models from the ground up Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability Strong academic credentials High attention to detail The ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely A desire to move from advisory into an operating business and see the commercial impact of your work The ability to commute to Marina del Rey Consumer Goods experience is not required. More important is strong financial fundamentals, intellectual curiosity and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment.
