What You'll Do

• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial roofing systems and accessories.
• Follow all company and jobsite safety requirements, including proper use of PPE and fall protection.
• Learn how to work with a variety of commercial roofing systems and materials.
• Learn the safe and proper use of roofing tools, equipment, and materials.
• Follow instructions from Foremen, Crew Managers, and experienced roofers.
• Assist crew members with daily roofing tasks and jobsite needs.
• Learn to recognize the next steps in roofing installations as your skills and experience develop.
• Help maintain a safe, organized, and productive jobsite.
• Work collaboratively with other crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently.
• Perform other roofing and project-related duties as assigned.

These responsibilities align with the original position's emphasis on assisting the crew, learning roofing systems, following experienced roofers, and developing trade knowledge on the job.

What We're Looking For

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid driver's license required
• No previous roofing experience required
• High school diploma or GED not required
• Willingness and ability to learn on the job
• Ability to safely work at heights and climb ladders
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to work as part of a team
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers
• Previous roofing or construction experience is a plus, but not required

Commercial Roofing Training

You'll have the opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience with roofing systems and materials including:

TPO | PVC | EPDM | Modified Bitumen | Built-Up Roofing (BUR) | Asphalt

Previous roofing experience is not required. Candidates with roofing or construction experience are also encouraged to apply. The original position lists one or more years of roofing experience as preferred rather than required.

Schedule & Travel

The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, with overtime opportunities and occasional weekend or out-of-town work based on project needs.

During a standard workweek, employees are generally home in the evenings. When overnight travel is required, JB Roofing provides company-paid hotel accommodations and a daily meal stipend.

Physical Requirements

This is an active field position involving regular work on commercial rooftops. Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods; climb ladders; bend, kneel, squat, reach, and balance; work safely at heights and in varying temperatures; and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
